Monday, August 24, 2009

09:47 - Office is packed, and loud. It is becoming a sweat shop.
13:04 - Told myself I wouldn't eat much for lunch, and wouldn't have caffeine. I'm having white castle and a mug of coffee.
13:12 - This coffee makes my tongue numb. Must be good.
14:24 - Really drowsy, and not certain what to work on.
16:30 - Rockin' to praise songs. It's nice to rock out to something that's good, and good for you: Jesus!

15:42 -  The way that "champagne" is spelled is kinda retarded.
16:00 -  Listening to "one love" by U2, while raging in front of computer.
16:14 -  Went downstairs to poopie, but manager was in there. So I went back upstairs.

This thought gave me the giggles for a while:

"You're in for a treat" = "Urine for a treat"

*insert childish snicker*

I was fascinated to discover that we don't only have hungry ants around the house, but we have thirsty ants. Last week I came home to an ant raid all over the dining table. What were they after? A leftover cup of water. Some were sipping water, some were dead in the water, but they all wanted water.

Then this morning I was ironing my shirt, and ants started escaping out of the water filling hole on the front of the iron.

Then I had this strange thought, that maybe I should leave food and water outside the house so the ants will leave me alone. But that's probably not a good idea, since they'll just breed into a larger colony and then eat me alive.

Just can't win!

Highlights

ICS class reunion

Wow! Like being transported in time! I felt like I was still in Bangkok for the next couple of days. Really fun catching up with the "fam", and also continuing contact through facebook. So many happy memories.

17-55mm lens resurrection

Found the cause, pulled out the dremel, and we are back in business. Praise the Lord. He gives, takes away, and gives back!

Church early in the morning for worship and setup of School of Worship table. No bass during worship felt kinda empty, but we made it through. I played guitar at the SOW table to attract more people - it got all busy towards the end of the morning. I'm excited and a little scared at how many people are signing up. The scary one in particular is the drum class... we only have so many drumsets.....

April and I had lunch with Kelly at Krua Thai. Had fun catching up, and also asking her for wedding advice. Laughed about how actors in bible movies have to have British accents.

Went to Fry's to get a new replacement mouse. It was a big moment. Then went to April's, napped, had a wedding pep talk, did some planning, and went home. I haven't had much rest, I'm glad I can just veg out tomorrow.

Slow day in the morning, intense in the afternoon. They're rearranging and compressing the office to squeeze in more desks again. We'll see what happens.

Went to April's for dinner, and then we did webwork until late. I got the jquery scrolling thing working, which I'm currently stoked about.

Today was rather intense in the morning. The call went okay. In the end it seemed like cisco is a little bit behind, so I can breath a little now. During my break I created a "wedding planning" website to share with pertinent people. Still have to flesh it out, but it feels good.

After work, April and I pigged out at Souplantation. We were both relieved from the day because we're both dealing with projects at work that are out of our comfort zone. Went to Trader Joe's and I got three cans o' coffee for work (just felt like it). Stopped by Friar Tux's for a brochure, then walked around the Brea mall for a bit. We ran into Kristen Chow at the Gap, which was really unexpected, but pleasant. She is someone we need to keep praying for.

April has this new thing where she keeps pressing her nose onto my arm to smell it... yep.

Found out at work that tomorrow I'll be having another conference call with Cisco. Ugh, I can't wait until this is over. It's supposed to be done and delivered by next Friday, which means I can switch back to working with Sesame Street finally. Having to admin myself with vague guidelines is giving me gray hair. Err.. more gray hair.

After work April and I went to CPK with this "adventure card" that I got that gives 20% off anything on menu that's marked "new". Had a good time, then did wedding planning in her car and at Panera. It was somewhat difficult making so many big ceremony decisions because we're learning that we have different planning styles (she likes to lay it all out first - I'm more of a "decide now, adjust later"). By the end of the night it was a little better. We ended the night with yogurtland. I got home and spent a long time editing more ICS reunion photos.
